Upon further reflection on my personal level of wellness I would have to share that I am feeling pretty good about it. I have been taking classes that focus on all the areas of a person including my physical body, spiritual, and psychological and have made many changes over the last year.
To rate them I would have to say that A-physical well-being would be an 8. B-Spiritual well-being would be an 8, and C-Psychological well being would also be an 8. I feel my mind and body connection is working better than it has been in years. I have learned to pay attention to it and make sure that all areas of my life are working.
My goals and activities to help obtain my goals are simple:
A~Physical Well-Being
Goal: To continue to get daily exercise
Activity: To have more fun with it, biking, hiking, camping
B~Spiritual Well-Being
Goal: Broaden my knowledge and Improve my practice to daily
Activity: Daily meditation and prayer, read to broaden knowledge
C~Psychological Well-Being
Goal: Continue to Create New Possibilities
Activity: Continue with Landmark Education teachings
I have other goals that I set at the beginning of the year and have already accomplished them. When I do that, I add more to the list. I will be completing my Bachelor program here at Kaplan after this term (another goal done:). I have already established the next goal, to complete my Masters degree. I have established the steps to accomplish this goal and am well on my way. Look out graduate school here I come!
Hi Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing your degree! Indeed that is a very large goal. What is your focus for your Master's degree? I enjoyed reading about your goals, and the progress you have made. It sounds like you have a great grasp on each aspect and what you would like to accomplish in each area. You made a great point about paying attention to the mind-body connection. I have found that too. If I focus my attention, I get much better results.
I enjoyed your post.
Sherry :)
Sherry,
ReplyDeleteI am getting my MFT degree to complete the license to do therapy. I have plans to work in the private sector (for psychiatrist) and follow my passion of teaching others coping skills. My background has been in mental health and specifically the PTSD diagnosis. It gives me great pleasure to help someone who is suffering learn to cope and have a better life.
I am also wanting more job security, at age 54 I was let go from a Federal job (right before my 2 yr contract was due) because of budget cuts. I am hopeful that following my passion will also provide some security of income.
Thanks for your post.
Cynthia
